FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

All RSVP’s must be made by September 1st, 2026. If we do not receive your RSVP by the deadline, we will assume you are unable to attend and will not be included in the final guest count. We love our guests, but we have to provide final numbers to our vendors, so unfortunately we won’t be able to accommodate late responses.

Question

What should we wear?

Answer

We kindly request that all guests wear black for this special occasion. Women are welcome to choose any style of black dress, or may opt for dark-wash jeans paired with a black top. Men are similarly invited to wear dark-wash jeans with a black top, though we'd be delighted if you'd embrace the full black dress code. Thank you for honoring this meaningful request.

Question

Can we bring a plus one?

Answer

We kindly ask that you refer to your invitation for specific guidance about plus-ones. Due to venue capacity and careful planning, we've thoughtfully curated our guest list. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us create an intimate celebration. Please note that bringing unauthorized additional guests may result in their being asked to leave the event.

Question

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

We warmly welcome children to our wedding celebration! To help us plan seating arrangements, please let us know in advance if you'll be bringing little ones. We kindly ask that parents or guardians supervise children throughout the event, especially since there is a small creek near the venue. Our priority is ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.

Question

What time should we arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving at the venue by 2:45 pm. Please note that entry into the venue building will be restricted until after the ceremony. (This includes all family and friends) This timing allows you to comfortably find parking, get settled, and ensure the ceremony begins promptly.

Question

What's the best way to get to the venue?

Answer

We encourage guests to plan their own transportation to and from the venue. Please feel free to carpool or use rideshare services for convenience. We'll have plenty of parking available at Monarch Place Event Center.

Question

Will there be alcohol at the wedding?

Answer

Our wedding will be a BYOB event. Due to our venue's remote location, we've decided to have guests bring their own beverages. If you choose to bring alcohol, please keep coolers in your vehicle. We kindly ask that you arrange safe transportation home and drink responsibly. We reserve the right to request that any guest who appears overly intoxicated depart the celebration.

Question

Will there be ... actual food?

Answer

Absolutely! We will be having Geneo’s Pizza cater our event.

Question

Will alcohol be provided?

Answer

No, this will be a BYOB wedding. Guests are welcome to bring their own beer, wine, or other beverages to enjoy during the reception. To help keep the venue organized, all coolers must remain secured in your vehicle until after the ceremony has concluded. Once the reception begins, please place coolers outside of the back patio area. This will help prevent clutter and keep walkways and gathering spaces clear for everyone.

Question

Can we take photos/videos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that everyone put away their phones and cameras during the ceremony. We want you to be fully present and enjoy the moment with us. Our photographers will capture all the special memories, so you can relax and be part of the experience.

Question

Can we take photos during the reception?

Answer

Yes, absolutely! Feel free to capture the fun during the reception. We'll have a designated area for the professional photographer to take any group shots, but we encourage you to snap your own memories throughout the evening. We also will have QR codes on your table linked to our Shepard Wedding Google Drive File so you can add photos!

Question

What about gifts?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate with you, and if you feel inclined to give a gift, we would love contributions to our honeymoon fund. **Gifts are not required at all, please don’t feel obligated to give a gift/contribution! This question is just to help those who want to!**

Question

What is a “Buy a Moment” photo experience?

Answer

In place of a traditional dollar dance, we’ll be doing a “Buy a Moment” photo experience during a designated time at the reception. Guests who would like to participate can contribute and take a professionally photographed picture with us, the bride and groom, as a fun keepsake memory from our wedding day. We loved the idea of creating meaningful moments with the people celebrating alongside us while putting a modern twist on a wedding tradition. To help keep things organized, photos will take place during a scheduled timeframe at the reception. We’ll have Venmo and Cash App QR codes available, along with a cash box for contributions. We can’t wait to celebrate and capture these memories with you!
