We kindly ask guests to wear cocktail attire—think semi-formal, festive, and seasonally appropriate. Ladies: A cocktail dress, jumpsuit, or dressy separates are perfect. Consider rich seasonal fabrics like velvet or satin in colors such as mauve, rust, emerald, or deep jewel tones. Long sleeves or a stylish wrap are a great idea for the cooler weather. Gentlemen: Slacks with a button-down and sport coat are ideal—ties are optional. A full suit in a rich tone like navy, burgundy, or charcoal is also a great choice.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30 PM. We recommend arriving by 3:00 PM to allow time for parking, finding your seat, and settling in before the celebration begins.
Transportation will not be provided. The venue is nestled in historic downtown Merkel, which doesn’t have a designated parking lot. Guests are encouraged to park along Main Street and nearby side streets. Give yourself a little extra time to find a spot and enjoy the charm of the area as you make your way in!
It’s Texas in December—so it can be a little unpredictable! While the ceremony will be held indoors, the reception will flow between indoor and outdoor courtyard spaces. We highly recommend bringing a scarf, shawl, or jacket to stay comfortable throughout the evening.
We kindly ask that all guests RSVP through our wedding website, which will show exactly who is invited. If a plus-one or child is not listed with your name, we kindly ask that you do not bring one. Thank you for understanding as we thoughtfully plan for each of you to be part of our special day!
We’ve reserved a hotel block at the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Abilene—just mention the Joyner–Whitaker wedding to receive our discounted rate. If you prefer other options, here are a few more we recommend nearby: • Hilton Garden Inn Abilene • Home2 Suites by Hilton Abilene • TownePlace Suites Abilene Southwest Book early to ensure availability—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
