Maid of Honor
I’m here to tell you all about Brooklyn and how wonderful, creative…sorry Brooklyn I can’t read your handwriting. Let’s start over, I’ve known Brooklyn since way back in the day, 2014 to be exact. High school is such a drag but luckily I met my best friend there who I get to stand beside on her big day. *I thought I’d be in a walker before she picked a date* I’m not good at expressing feelings so we’ll keep it short & sweet. I couldn’t ask for a better best friend. I may not listen to the advice she gives but she is always there to help. She’s my best friend, Mexican date, and counselor all in one. When I’m not sending her corny jokes, I like kayaking, painting, TJ Maxx, TikTok. But my favorite pastime is being a dog & cat mom! • So, why don’t melons get married? Because they cantaloupe.
Matron of Honor
My name is Nika Ali. I am a wife, a mother of 3.5 kids, a daughter, sister, and a friend. I am most passionate about being there for my family and love ones. I met Brooklyn at UNCC the fall of 2017. We connected at hello and established a bond like no other. During our college journey we grew very close and became sisters with a matchless bond that will be forever. I tell her often that our friendship is the best thing that UNCC gave me. Brooklyn is the sweetest person I know and I’m elated to be by her side on her special day. I love her dearly and she will be always be a special part of my life.

Brooklyn has been my best friend and my rock since I met her. We bonded over a terrible job, and a love for Halloween and all things spooky. We’ve had so many great times and I know there’s so many more to come. I love playing with my three sweet dogs, being outside anyway I can, reading, and writing!

20 years ago I was brought into the world as a sister of Brooklyn’s. Although we may have had our fair share of arguments growing up, we created a bond of love and support that I know will follow me throughout life. Well, if you know anything about Brooklyn, I’ll make things easy - I am the complete opposite. I like fishing and hunting, she likes crocheting. I like growing sunflowers outside, she likes her plants in the same room with her. I love kids and taking care of kids, we all know she does not. But whatever the reason God made us completely different, was for the good. You know, opposites attract they say. She asked for a fun fact so I’ll go the extra mile just for her. If I were to win a lifetime supply of money, I’d move to Texas, buy a house, a truck, and live happily ever after.

As some of you know and very few do, I’m 100% a true blonde. Nothing gets past this one right here, only because I’m still trying to figure it out, lol. Brooklyn has been one of the few great mentors in my life and I am forever appreciative for her. I still remember asking her to do all my school projects or to come check me out like it was yesterday. Some of my main hobbies include shopping (although I have 27 cents to my name), sleeping, and annoying my boyfriend 24/7 but also like to bake, draw, and event plan. I’ve been told I’m a outgoing person; however, my social anxiety says otherwise, but I appreciate the compliment.

Hi, I'm 23 and I actually share the same birthday as Brooklyn! That is kind of how we became friends, haha. We are such good pals because we understand each other. I love Brooklyn and will always care about her no matter where we both end up in this big world. Not much to say about myself. My main two hobbies are doing makeup and writing poetry. I also watch a lot of movies and television shows. I love music of all kinds. An interesting fact about me....uhhhhm.. I guess I just started trying to paint recently lol!! That's all I have to say bc I am boring lol!
Best Man
I am Ivan’s best man. I am 25 & I am truck driver. I am married to my soulmate & have a beautiful baby girl. He was a part of my wedding so I’m happy to be in his. I enjoy working on cars & spending time with my family. I’ve known him for 14 years, we met in school and were basically neighbors. I remember walking to each others’ house after a snowstorm, cruising in his charger, our trips, and when we tried to create an invention with bamboo that didn’t work (haha). I could go on but that’s for another time. Ivan, I love you like a brother I’m glad we’ve kept our friendship throughout the years even when we go without talking because our lives are busy. I wish you & Brooklyn all the happiness in the world. We can’t wait to see Mr. & Mrs. Rivero start their new adventure in Las Vegas, baby!
Groomsman
Hello my name is Adam, I’m 20 and one of the groomsmen. I am currently in school to become a lineman and while I attend school I work at Countryside BBQ on the weekends. I like to golf, work on cars, and eat (a lot). I met Ivan through my girlfriend, Makayla, who is Brooklyn’s cousin and now bridesmaid. I have enjoyed getting to know these two for the last 3 years and exploring new things with them. I am excited, as well is Makayla, to continue our adventuring as we celebrate Brooklyn and Ivan in Vegas.
Groomsman
I’ve been friends with Ivan for over 7 years. All I can say is he is a perfect example of don’t judge a book by its cover. When I met him, he was a quiet person, didn't make much eye contact. I got to know him and saw he was a really nice, funny, hard-working guy. A guy that cared about those who were around him. I considered him a good friend when I had a car accident and without asking him to come, he showed up. What I’m really trying to say is that Ivan will be there whenever you need a friend to count on. I know his bride is very lucky to have a husband like Ivan. I know Ivan is very lucky too for finding a great and wonderful person as Brooklyn is. I’m very honored to be here on one of the biggest steps in life. I wish y'all nothing but the best. God bless y'all, Ivan and Brooklyn.
Groomsman
Hello, I am 27 and one of the groomsmen. I am a materials manager at Bemis of Lenoir. After work you can literally catch me playing soccer almost everyday of the week, I met Ivan playing soccer in high school as Ivan made it to the varsity team as a freshmen.
