The Stockyards are an iconic part of Fort Worth and where you'll find a trendy, country-western style historic district. We have amazing memories at a few of our favorite spots: Billy Bob's Honky Tonk - the world's largest honky tonk, where you can find some of the biggest country star's handprints in the walls, watch bull riding shows, and two step or swing dance to a live band under a horse saddle disco ball. Second Rodeo Brewing - super cool indoor/outdoor spot with drinks, food, and live music. Joe T Garcia's - a restaurant where you are immersed in a beautiful garden a block or two away from the Stockyards Main Street. They have delicious Mexican food and Brooke's favorite margaritas (by the pitcher)! Cattle drive at 11:30 am and 4:00 pm daily where you can watch the cowboys heard the longhorns down main street. We love just walking around the historic cobblestone streets and stopping in unique shops and saloons!
Sundance Square is the romantic heart of Downtown Fort Worth, walking distance from our reception venue. It's a great place to walk around, grab brunch or dinner, and people watch! The Flying Saucer is a great beer garden that we had one of our best first dates at, as well as where our parents met each other for the first time!
Also walking distance from our reception venue is the Fort Worth Water Gardens, where you can stroll through and enjoy the unique waterfall formations. A great, peaceful spot to sip your morning coffee or burn a few minutes between events!
Our favorite BBQ spot! Magnolia is also an adorable street with wine bars, coffee shops, boutiques, and most importantly...a local ice cream spot "Melt"!
Our two favorite burger places! Dutch's Hamburgers is basically on TCU's campus and is where Zach asked Brooke to be his girlfriend. Rodeo Goat is another delicious spot on West 7th, which is a popular street of restaurants and bars. They have great gluten free buns, which Brooke always appreciates.
TCU's campus is always guaranteed to be beautiful! Get your steps in and walk around enjoying the flowers, the Frog Fountain, and the campus where Zach and Brooke's story began.
To be honest, neither of us have been to the zoo. We have heard great things, though! The Fort Worth Zoo is a well known attraction, and it's very close to TCU and Downtown.
