You cannot go to Boulder and not walk on Pearl Street Mall. The Rembrandt Yard is only 2 blocks off of the mall. The Pearl Street Mall is a popular destination for tourists visiting Boulder and for students attending the nearby University of Colorado Boulder. The mall hosts a blend of locally owned businesses and national chain stores and restaurants. It is also home to much of Boulder's nightlife. During the summer months, Pearl Street Mall is the stage for a number of street performers, including musicians. The Pearl Street Mall is filled with public art, including numerous fountains and sculptures as well as a sandbox for children, a stylized map of Boulder County and a number of small gardens which are planted with a variety of flowers and trees, most notably tulips in the spring. The Mall is at the heart of downtown Boulder, in the western part of present-day Boulder. The area is an historic district and many of the buildings are among the oldest in Boulder.
Chautauqua Park is a portion of an iconic historic landmark dating back to when the City of Boulder began preserving wild lands over 100 years ago. In 1898, Boulder residents approved a bond issue to purchase 80 acres to be used as a “Chautauqua”. The park land owned by Boulder Parks and Recreation is located adjacent to OSMP trails, Chautauqua Dining Hall and Auditorium, and Chautauqua Ranger Cottage and provides a playground, tennis courts, and open turf.
The Dushanbe Teahouse was created as a gift to the city of Boulder, Colorado, from its sister city Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, in 1987. At the time Tajikistan was a part of the Soviet Union, as the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic. Forty artisans from Tajikistan hand-made the teahouse over a period of two years, took it apart, and then packed the pieces into about 200 crates to be shipped to Boulder. The trades used by the artisans were passed from generation to generation within families, such as the use of nature, and repetition of patterns, descendant from traditional Persian design. Also, no power tools were used in the original construction of the tea house.
Brooke's favorite brewery in Colorado! The original brewery is in Durango but the Boulder location fuses their brewed beers and liquors! Their food is amazing and they have a great outdoor seating area! Its beer names and branding revolve around ska and rude boy culture. In March 2020, after half a decade of planning, Ska Street Brewstillery opened in Boulder, Colorado. That same afternoon it and other restaurants in the state closed due to the coronavirus.
Some credit Oskar Blues as the creator of the "first released canned craft beer in the United States" with the release of their Dale's Pale Ale in November 2002. Other writers point to an earlier beer, Chief Oshkosh Red Lager which was brewed and canned at an existing brewery, as the "first canned craft beer" on June 17, 1991, although its producer, the Mid-Coast Brewing company, closed in 1994.
The Bohemian Biergarten was created and founded by Zdenek Srom in 2013. Zdenek immigrated from his hometown of Boskovice, Czech Republic in 1996 and he knew he found his home away from home when he made it to the Rockies. As a beer drinking, Gastro inspired designer, builder and painter, he was able to execute his vision of a true European gastropub in the heart of Boulder. Zdenek’s aesthetic of rustic charm was then paired perfectly with Executive Chef Michael Clancy’s approach to central European cuisine. The ambience, imported classic European biers, authentic glassware, Central European food, timeless design, and quality of service create an experience that continues to transport visitors and locals to another place and time. Na zdravi!
A great place to get food or drink, right across from The Rembrandt Yard Art Gallery! It opened its doors on New Year's Day 1909. The original 1908 Otis Elevator is still in operation. As one of the first Boulder hotels, it is located in the heart of downtown. The hotel's name comes from the words "Boulder" and "Colorado" so no guest would forget where they had stayed. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Rocky Mountain National Park is an American national park located approximately 55 mi (89 km) northwest of Denver[5] in north-central Colorado, within the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The park is situated between the towns of Estes Park to the east and Grand Lake to the west. The eastern and western slopes of the Continental Divide run directly through the center of the park with the headwaters of the Colorado River located in the park's northwestern region.[6] The main features of the park include mountains, alpine lakes and a wide variety of wildlife within various climates and environments, from wooded forests to mountain tundra.
