Believe it or not, Troy and I first met in the laundry room of McCutcheon dorm at Purdue University. It was the very first week of school, and he was actually one of the first guys I met. We later found out we shared a math class and would occasionally work on our homework together. We both remained busy throughout college with school work and greek life. We continued as distant friends for the first three years of college and would occasionally cross paths at fraternity parties and Harry's.
After much convincing, I finally agreed to go on a first "date" with Troy at the ice cream shop, Silver Dipper. Troy planned weekly dates from here on out. We eventually started dating and had to do long distance for the first six months. Troy had accepted a construction management job that required him to move to southern Georgia. After much convincing...by me this time, he found a new job in Fort Wayne and I was the happiest girl. The rest is history!
For my birthday, Troy surprised me with a trip to Key West, Florida. Before heading to dinner, Troy suggested to take a quick walk on the beach. To my surprise, he had a gorgeous display of roses and a sign that read "Marry Me." It was easily the best moment of life. After the engagement, we headed to dinner and the surprise continued. Both of our families filled the restaurant and helped us celebrate. It was a night that Troy and I will never forget!
