Flight

Milan, Rome, Pisa, or Florence

The largest (and cheapest) airports in Italy are Milan and Rome. If convenience is a priority for you, Pisa and Florence are both closer to our villa (but may be a bit spendier). Milan is 4 hours (by car) from our villa (230 miles) Rome is 2.5 hours (by car) from our villa (130 miles) Pisa is 2 hours (by car) from our villa (93 miles) Florence is 1.25 hours (by car) from our villa (45 miles) Excellent resources are SkyScanner (free app on phone) - awesome at finding cheap flights + comparing total flight/layover times + Hopper (free app on phone). Pro tip: (Minneapolis folks) Chicago has very cheap flights to Italy! A 6 hour drive may be something to consider if budget is a top priority for you. Otherwise, flights from MSP - CHI can most often be found for ~$75.

Rental Car

Recommendation: renting a car through the airport

Because our villa is in the beautiful Tuscan countryside, renting a car has been recommended. To limit each couple renting a separate car, we will gather each couple’s travel itineraries as they are made and arrange carpooling, etc. Driving in Italy requires an International Driving Permit ($20). Applications must be submitted at an AAA office or via good old fashioned snail mail and 2 current colored passport photos are required. It can take 10-15 business days to process.

House Or Rental

Villa Olimpia

Villa Olimpia is a country side home located just 40 minutes outside of Siena, Italy. It is large enough to accomodate our entire guest list! Perfect for big groups all wanting to spend time together while still having privacy and plenty of space to spread out. Our ceremony and reception will be held in the garden outside the villa. There are 8 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, a full kitchen, garden, pool, hot tub, air conditioning and wifi.

Villa Olimpia

Our villa is booked for 4 nights from Monday, September 23 - Friday, September 27. Check in is at 3:00 on Monday, check out is 11:00 am on Friday. Based on when you will be arriving in Italy, check in may be flexible. Contact us, we can chat! We wanted to respect all of our guests individual itineraries and schedules by limiting the booked villa to 4 nights. We understand that 4 nights may not be long enough for you to enjoy Italy and explore; feel free to extend your stay prior to or after the wedding by bouncing around and finding another villa or hotel (Airbnb is a wonderful resource!) Please see our “travel” tab for more information on nearby cities. Accommodations are a total of $375 per person for the week ($93.75/night) Payments can be made in full or in $93.75 increments.
