We met at Western WA University! I was Stacey's RA. When I first met Stacey, I sent a snapchat to some friends saying "I just found my next boyfriend". At the time, I was joking, but was definitely interested in him. Thankfully (sort of) Stacey had a very difficult roommate situation where I had to be involved often in their apartment to make sure things were okay. This gave us lots of time to talk and get to know each other. One day, I not-so-casually mentioned that nobody comes to visit me during office hours. Well, what do you know? The very next day, Stacey stopped by just to chat with me. That's when I started hoping he was interested in me too. My 22nd birthday was coming up, so I invited him and his roommates to come celebrate with me and a bunch of friends at Goat Mountain Pizza. That night, I masterminded the situation to make sure I was sitting next to him and even told my friend to keep all the single girls away from Stacey :) Turns out, that wasn't necessary and he already was interested in me. That night, we realized feelings were mutual and he asked me on an official date. We went out on my actual birthday and got Crepes, which has since become a favorite spot for us. Stacey also wrote me a poem (did you know he writes poems? He's so cute!), made it into a paper airplane, and attempted to land it on my balcony. Which is probably the most romantic thing ever. We moved in together shortly after and have been going strong for 5 years (5.5 on the wedding day). I can't wait to celebrate our love with you on 8-6-2023! :) -Brooke "True Story" -Stacey
