We met at Aldi on my first day on the job. Brooke didn't actually like me at first. Once she finally gave me a chance, we hit it off as really great friends! We would always get drinks together after work at Buffalo Wild Wings across the street. We didn't know it for the longest time, but we both had crushes on each other and were too nervous to tell one another. Brooke ended up leaving Aldi in July of 2017, and I finally got the nerve to make the first move shortly after that! We started dating in September that year!

Roughly a year after we started dating, I started reaching out to Brooke's sister, Kayla, to see what kind of ring styles she thought Brooke would be into. Brooke's Alabama family was scheduled to be up here to visit us in late October, and I thought that would be the perfect time to propose. So I told my mom all about it, and she surprised both of us by showing up the week Brooke's family was in town. I was so scared she was going to make Brooke suspicious and I would lose my element of surprise. We decided early on in the week to go to Beasley's Orchard in Danville as a big group. As soon as we got there, Brooke and I sat down on a bale of hay right in front of the shop where they have their beautiful pumpkin and flower display to get a photo of just the two of us. But instead, I pulled out the ring to propose! She had a very shocked look on her face and immediately jumped up and walked to her nephew, Kohen's stroller. I was freaking out!! She turns back around with a ring of her own. Kohen turns around with his jacket off displaying a cute handmade shirt that said, "Will you marry my auntie?" Come to find out, our entire families knew both of our plans the entire time! Can I just say...double proposals are the best proposals!!!!
