Flying into the Palm Springs or Los Angeles airports are the best options. For convenience, we personally use the airport in Palm Springs.
Joshua Tree is about an hour from Downtown Palm Springs and that is where we recommend lodging. We will be in the area until March 8, staying both in Twentynine Palms (as it's closer to the park) and then Downtown Palm Springs. There are tons of hotels and Airbnbs in Palm Springs! Car rental services are located at the Palm Springs airport.
