One day in August of 2023, Nick had a day of golf with a couple of buddies. One including Josh, who works for his dad, Steve. They decided to end the night at an authentic Mexican restaurant for some food and drinks. Josh randomly decides to text Brooke (who knew each other through her father, Joe) to come to Deseo to meet some guy. Mind you, this is about 8:30 or so at night, and if anyone knows Brooke, she gets really comfy on her couch at the time of the night, cuddling with her many fur babies. Brooke says that she will only go if the owner of the restaurant was there, whom she knew through working at another restaurant years ago. Luckily for Nick, she was there so Brooke reluctantly put some real clothes on and drove her happy a** over there. Josh wasn't a very good matchmaker because he was sitting between Nick and Brooke, who are not very good at small talk and knowing how to act normal. Long story short, Nick and Brooke hardly said anything in the hour or so they were sitting there and they finally had a chance to talk once his golf buddies left and were standing outside. They stayed out there for a hot minute just talking about who knows what because they might be a little awkward and can't make eye contact. They exchanged numbers and planned a date about a week later. Where, you ask? Mr. Freeze, an ice cream place in Perrysburg. They both ordered an Oreo sundae and the rest is history. Little did Nick know, that ice cream dates would be a frequent part of his life due to Brooke's obsession with ice cream. Nick might've been *a little* in shock when he learned about the many critters that Brooke has. Two dogs and two cats that is. For reference, he grew up with one small dog and Brooke has two large dogs, plus the cats. Somehow with her serious charm and humor, she convinced him to stay around. The many animals might have been one of the catalysts to Nick buying a larger home for all of them in August of 2024. He had the best realtor in town. Brooke that is. Brooke also decided to keep her house and turn it into a rental property. They combined homes and eventually got engaged in March of 2025. They have already ventured on a few travels and hope to continue... Now here we are and we cannot wait for the next chapter and to celebrate with all of you!
