Brooke was living her life in Chico, CA, just about to start her journey through nursing school when Moi decided to transfer to Chico State to finish his college career. One Sunday night after mass at the Newman Catholic Center, Brooke and Moi struck up a conversation… Moi explained how he was so new to the area and kindly asked for Brooke’s number in hopes she could show him around. Brooke agreed, and the next day, Moi asked if Brooke wanted to meet up at her favorite study spot—Starbucks! That morning, Moi, a classic broke college student, used his last $10 to buy Brooke’s coffee. Moi then began the routine of skating to the downtown Starbucks every morning before class to meet Brooke to “study”. While Moi clicked around buttons on his laptop to look hard at work, and Brooke diligently studied anatomy, Moi sweetly distracted Brooke, making conversation all along the way… and before you know it, the rest is history.
