The skiing in Little Cottonwood Canyon is some of the best in the world. Keep in mind that snowboarding is not allowed at Alta. There is terrain for everybody here from beginner to expert. If you decide to drive, you must reserve parking in advance to park at Alta's lot. It is Mark's favorite resort, and a great time!! Don't forget to try some Alta bombs (PBR with Espresso Shot) while here!
Snowbird is the other ski resort in Little Cottonwood Canyon. It is a little bit fancier than Alta, and also has a lot to offer! This is Brooke's favorite resort. There is a gondola here, and a nice summit cafe, not to mention great skiing.
Brighton is an awesome ski area. It is Mark's second favorite resort, and has a lot of awesome terrain. This is known as the snowboarder's resort in SLC, and there's a good amount of Park skiing here.
Fantastic resort option for those looking for a slightly more affordable ski day! There is still plenty of terrain here for all abilities.
Great affordable option for ski/snowboard rental gear!
Homestead Crater's Hot Spring is about an hour drive from Salt Lake City. Great option for those interested in a relaxing rest day!
The Cliff Spa at Snowbird Resort offers a rooftop pool, hot tub, and spa treatments for those looking to treat themselves with amazing mountain views!
Park City/Canyons resort and town have the more ski mountain town vibes than the other resorts. Think of a Colorado ski town. Park City is about a 35-40 minute drive from SLC, so if you are interested in staying up there, it is possible, you'll just have to figure out the logistics and things.
