Things To Do

SLC has a ton of activities for everyone in the Winter! That is why we live here, and thought it would be a great place for our wedding! Whether you choose to ski, snowshoe, or have a spa day in addition to our wedding, please book in advance any ski pass, ski rental, snowshoe rental, etc.. This is a holiday weekend and things will book up/become more expensive the longer you wait! Also a blackout weekend for any ski pass holders! Our hotel offers discounted ski lift tickets, and there is a bus stop that goes to the resorts right out the front door! Keep in mind that if driving to ski resorts, some require reservations, and all require you getting to the canyon entrances by 8-830AM. Taking the bus is nice as you can hop on when you want, and not worry about parking. If not skiing, there are a lot of snowshoeing trails, and other things.

Alta Ski Area

10010 Little Cottonwood Canyon Road, Alta, UT 84092
, (801) 359-1078

The skiing in Little Cottonwood Canyon is some of the best in the world. Keep in mind that snowboarding is not allowed at Alta. There is terrain for everybody here from beginner to expert. If you decide to drive, you must reserve parking in advance to park at Alta's lot. It is Mark's favorite resort, and a great time!! Don't forget to try some Alta bombs (PBR with Espresso Shot) while here!

Snowbird

9385 Snowbird Center Drive, Snowbird, UT 84092
, (801) 933-2222

Snowbird is the other ski resort in Little Cottonwood Canyon. It is a little bit fancier than Alta, and also has a lot to offer! This is Brooke's favorite resort. There is a gondola here, and a nice summit cafe, not to mention great skiing.

Brighton Resort

8302 South Brighton Loop Road, Brighton, UT 84121
, (801) 532-4731

Brighton is an awesome ski area. It is Mark's second favorite resort, and has a lot of awesome terrain. This is known as the snowboarder's resort in SLC, and there's a good amount of Park skiing here.

Solitude Mountain Resort

12000 South Big Cottonwood Canyon Road, Solitude, UT 84121
, (801) 534-1400

Fantastic resort option for those looking for a slightly more affordable ski day! There is still plenty of terrain here for all abilities.

Canyon Sports

517 South 200 West, Salt Lake City, UT 84101
, (801) 322-4220

Great affordable option for ski/snowboard rental gear!

Homestead Crater Mineral Dome

Midway, UT 84049

Homestead Crater's Hot Spring is about an hour drive from Salt Lake City. Great option for those interested in a relaxing rest day!

The Cliff Spa

9320 Cliff Lodge Drive, Snowbird, UT 84092
, (801) 933-2225

The Cliff Spa at Snowbird Resort offers a rooftop pool, hot tub, and spa treatments for those looking to treat themselves with amazing mountain views!

Park City Mountain

1345 Lowell Avenue, Park City, UT 84060
, (435) 649-8111

Park City/Canyons resort and town have the more ski mountain town vibes than the other resorts. Think of a Colorado ski town. Park City is about a 35-40 minute drive from SLC, so if you are interested in staying up there, it is possible, you'll just have to figure out the logistics and things.
