Our Love Stroy

Our love story began unexpectedly in October 2017. I was on clinical rotations for PA school and was moving around the country every 6 weeks and Mark was working long hours as a Radiation Therapist in Pittsburgh. Our paths crossed in Pittsburgh at a local bar where we met while watching a PSU football game. We immediately clicked over bizarre medical stories and pumpkin beer. After our first meeting, we continued to grow closer despite the distance that often separated us. We made the most of me moving frequently and used it as an excuse to travel and explore new places together. In May 2018, I graduated from PA school and we got a few months before I started my job to live in the same city, see each other more often, and of course travel some more. In August 2018, I moved back down to VA and started working in the ED, while Mark continued to work in Pittsburgh. Neither of us loved being far apart, but once again we used it as an opportunity to travel and to make new memories together. We not only fell in love with the adventures we were taking, but with each other as well. In April 2019 we added our fur baby Duke to our family and in October that same year, Mark accepted a job as a Radiation Therapist at a local hospital in VA. After 2 long years of living apart, we finally got to be together. On December 20, 2019 we were getting ready to leave to visit family for the holiday, but Mark, unbeknownst to me, had other plans. He took me to lunch and then to a local lookout called Raven's Roost so that we could watch the sunset. At sunset he pulled out a scrapbook we had made of our travels together and on the last page was a picture of Raven's Roost and the quote "Journeys end in lovers meeting". He told me that his journey to find his person had ended when we met and that these pages were to document our biggest adventure yet. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you!
