You're welcome to follow the shuttle's itinerary or head off on your own for hikes like the Mist Trail and simply meet us for the ride back. Along the way we're planning: an easy 30-minute half-mile walk through the lower valley, and a moderate 1-hour, 2-mile round-trip hike to the lake. If either isn't your speed, you're welcome to skip it by staying on the bus or exploring the nearby areas. The shuttle departs Mirror Lake at 5:00pm for the return to the lodge. A note on lunch: we won't be providing lunch on Sunday, but there will be casual food options at Yosemite Valley Lodge (Base Camp Eatery) around midday where everyone can grab something. While we would love everyone who was invited to attend, we absolutely understand the logistical challenges involved with a destination wedding. There is no expectation that you come just because you were invited! If you're unable to attend, just let us know.
There are many moving parts on our end we need to organize, some of which are somewhat out of our control. The Yosemite area is a popular destination for many people, so the details for things are typically organized well in advance. If you're unsure about your ability to commit by the RSVP deadline, just reach out to us directly.
Just email, call or text us and we can sort it out! Logan - 505-492-4694 - loganwishartcraig@gmail.com Brooke - 310-990-4459 - brookecullen@g.ucla.edu
You can see the "Travel" page for more details about on-site and alternative accommodations.
ASAP! We have a limited size room block available on a first come first serve basis, and while there are options still available if that fills up, the area is quite popular and fills up well in advance, so please organize lodging as soon as you know you're going.
We recommend arriving the afternoon of Friday, June 19th so you can check in, settle into your cabin, and join us for a welcome gathering that evening. If you're in the rehearsal dinner, you should arrive early enough to be prepared for the run through at 6:30pm June 19th. Evergreen Lodge is about a 3-4 hour drive from the Bay Area and ~6 hours from Los Angeles.
For most people living in CA, the trip should be doable via car. You can print out directions using Google maps. It takes about 6 hours from LA, and about 3-4 hours from the Bay Area. For those outside CA, we recommend flying into Oakland or Sacramento airport, renting a car and driving from there.
Green, gold, and brown!
The overall theme is "Forrest Formal" - dressy but comfortable for the outdoors. Avoid heels as there is grass and pebble paths. Wedges, block heels, or dressy flats are best. June afternoons can be warm, but evenings cool off so we recommend you bring a light coat or wrap.
We recommend sunscreen, bug spray, sun hat, hiking clothes, hiking or running shoes (especially if you plan on joining for activities on Sunday), lip balm. The lodge does have a gift shop that stocks some essentials.
Sunny days (~75-85°F) and cooler evenings (~50-60°F), with the possibility of it being very warm if there's a heat wave. It's advised to check the weather closer to the event date and adjust accordingly.
Weather permitting, both will be outdoors under the pines. Shade is expected to be available, but not guaranteed.
Yes, onsite parking is available for all guests.
No passes or reservations needed. The national park service has confirmed advanced reservations for vehicles or otherwise are not in place this year.
