Our paths had crossed since we were 5 and 6 years old at Moton Elementary School. I (Brooke) knew Kyler from afar, but we didn't actually meet until we were in high school. We never had a class together, but we always knew each other. We spent time with other people, only kept in touch through likes on Facebook and replies on Twitter. One day, we began talking steadily and eventually, the time was finally right. Kyler asked to go on a date, and we spent our first date at Dairy Queen. We laughed and talked for hours, and we have been inseparable ever since.
I met with Kyler's sister, Kara, for brunch and a day of thrifting. When we got to our brunch spot, we went down to look at the river near by. When we started walking down, Kara asked me who was standing on the dock. To my surprise, it was Kyler. He was surrounded by sunflowers and had the biggest smile on his face. I quickly walked to see him and he got down on one knee. He opened up a box with the ring of my dreams and asked me to marry him. I said, "Of course I will!" I turned around to see our family and friends, clapping and crying. This was the best day of our lives, thus far.
