We were fifteen in the youth group at CityLight when we first met. Our first time talking was at a teen event on a Friday night. It was loud and chaotic, and somehow, we ended up on the same team. We all went to IHOP later that night, and we found ourselves sitting across from each other, talking about how we like our eggs cooked and whether sausage or bacon is superior. It didn’t feel like a big deal then, but looking back, that simple night was the start of something neither of us saw coming. The beginning of a friendship that would slowly turn into so much more. Over the next three years, that friendship grew. We stayed in the same friend group and served at church together. We were friends long before we ever thought about a relationship, let alone marriage. Unbeknownst to Brooke, Kyle had liked her for quite a while; the entire 3 years! And while we might have been figuring it out slowly, plenty of people in our church family seemed to know exactly what was happening before we did. After months of playful speculation and a few loving “set-up” attempts (you know who you are!), we officially started talking in the summer of 2022, right after high school graduation. Since then, we have been inseparable. What we’ve built hasn’t just been about feelings or attraction, but it’s been rooted in friendship, shaped by respect, and centered on serving God together. One of the biggest blessings in our story has been the encouragement and support from our church family. So many of you prayed for us, checked in on us, and quietly cheered us on from the very beginning. Our relationship has been strengthened by the people who surrounded us and believed in us long before we fully understood what God was doing. As we step into marriage, we are incredibly grateful to have that same support around us. Thank you for being here, for walking alongside us, and for celebrating this next chapter with us. Your love, prayers, and encouragement mean more than we can say, and we’re so thankful to begin this new season surrounded by all of you!
