Since getting together, we have always been trying to get the other out of their comfort zone by trying fun/new things. I have successfully gotten Julian out to the stables where he has cleaned stalls, ridden horses, and built a fun bond with our horse Lyla. He, on the other hand, has been able to do the unthinkable...he's gotten me to enjoy camping. After Thanksgiving, he had the "random" idea to test out our new tent and go camping in the Olympic Mountains. Mind you, I am not a fan of the cold and knew it would be freezing out there. So, on Saturday morning, we packed up our gear and dog and headed out. We found a spot at the National Park that was right off a hidden road and next to a river. We set up camp, and I made quick work of getting the fire started while Julian started on dinner. After eating under the stars, Julian snuck away saying he left snacks in the truck. When he returned, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was completely shocked, and for once in my life, speechless. Obviously I said yes! The trip was perfect, and although we hit a bit of a snag with the stove in our tent almost smoking us out, we wouldn't change any aspect of it.
