Lacey Jane met Brooke when they both attended middle school at Victory Baptist School. In high school, Brooke and Lacey Jane played Abby and Martha, the sisters in their school’s production of “Arsenic and Old Lace.” Lacey Jane graduated from Victory and went to The University of North Alabama in 2018. Brooke joined her there in 2019. In 2021, Lacey Jane joined the United States Air Force and is now stationed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii. She is an Airman First Class and works as a weather forecaster.
John Hampton “Hamp” Oldshue

Hamp met Joshua at Blue Lake summer camp in 2011 after he moved to Fairhope, Alabama, Joshua's hometown. They soon found out that they have shared comic dispositions and a love for Star Wars and that they were neighbors. They have been friends ever since and graduated high school together after Hamp transferred to Bayshore Christian School. Hamp is an Advertising major at the University of Alabama.

Julie is Brooke’s younger sister. She is currently in high school and plays trumpet and French horn in the marching band. She is an all-star golfer and plays both for her school’s golf team and independently.
Cooper Dawson Waldo

Cooper is Brooke’s younger brother. He currently attends school in Montgomery, Alabama and is a member of the Varsity Men’s golf team and a percussionist in his school’s Varsity band. Cooper is an all-star golfer who also competes in many tournaments outside of school.

Meg is Joshua’s younger sister. She is a graduate of Bayshore Christian School and a freshman at The University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in Media and Entertainment Arts management.
Clinton Forrest Waldo

Forrest is Brooke's older brother. Joshua and Brooke share similar loves of Star Wars, video games and music with Forrest and his wife Andrea. Forrest is a graduate student at Auburn University and an engineer for Georgia Power.
McKenna Ashley Moore

McKenna is Joshua’s cousin, the daughter of his uncle Jim Moore and aunt Jennifer Moore. She currently attends the University of Alabama and is pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering. She is a saxophone player in UA’s Million Dollar Band.
John Tyler Thomas

John is Joshua’s uncle, the husband of his Aunt Amy Thomas. He and Joshua maintain a close friendship through their mutual interests. John is a graduate of the University of Alabama and now practices law in his position as a staff attorney for the Alabama Education Association.

Abby is Joshua’s cousin, the daughter of his uncle Jim Moore and aunt Jennifer Moore. She currently attends Oak Mountain High School and is in the marching band as well as being an award winning student in mathematics.

Chad met Joshua in 2019 when Joshua moved to Florence and was in search of a new church. In his research, Joshua found that Florence had its own Vineyard Church being planted by Chad and his wife, Allison, who are now co-pastors of the Florence Vineyard.

Emma met Brooke in 2021 when she began volunteering to write for the Flor-Ala. She is now the paper’s News Editor. Emma is a sophomore at The University of North Alabama majoring in Psychology with a minor in Communications.

Will met Joshua at age 3 when they were both in Mrs.Haynes’ music class. They went to school together from kindergarten to 12th grade at Bayshore Christian School and remained close friends throughout life. Will is a Chemical Engineering major at Auburn University.

Bella met Brooke through mutual friends when they were in 7th grade. They became close in 8th grade over a shared love of music. Although they never went to the same school, they remained one of each other’s closest friends throughout middle and high school. Bella will graduate from the University of Alabama Birmingham in Spring 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Evan met Joshua when they attended 1st grade together at Bayshore Christian School, where they both went until their high school graduation. They have remained friends ever since. Evan is a senior at Auburn University and is majoring in Computer Science.

Anna and Brooke met when they went to school together in the first grade and have been friends ever since. They were inseparable as children and remain close even into adulthood. Anna is a senior at Auburn University Montgomery majoring in Information Systems.

Zack met Joshua when they became roommates at Rivers Hall their freshman year of college at UNA. Zack will graduate from UNA in Spring 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He is a Cadet in the United States Army ROTC program at UNA.
Lavette Raycine Williams

Lavette met Brooke in 2019 when Brooke began as a staff writer for The Flor-Ala newspaper, which Lavette was the editor-in-chief of until Spring 2022. Lavette is a graduate of the Communications department at the University of North Alabama and works as a producer at WAAY31 News in Huntsville, Alabama.

Arthur Howard met Joshua in early elementary school when their younger sisters, Olivia and Megan were close friends. However, the two became close friends themselves when Arthur moved to Florence to attend UNA and became Joshua’s roommate. Arthur is a Senior at the University of North Alabama majoring in Computer Science.
Sarah Elizabeth Turney

Sarah met Brooke in 2018 when Brooke became interested in advocating for the missing persons case of Sarah’s sister, Alissa Turney. Over the last 5 years, Brooke has helped Sarah in creating social media content to advocate for her sister’s case. Sarah is the creator of the Voices for Justice podcast, which seeks to bring light to victims’ stories, and the host of the Disappearances podcast, which tells the stories of infamous missing person’s cases.

Danny met Joshua when they began playing one of their favorite video games, Red Dead Redemption together. He works at NAPA Autoparts and shares Joshua’s love of cars.

Joy is Joshua’s cousin and the daughter of his Aunt Amy Thomas and Uncle John Thomas. Brooke has known Joy since she was a newborn, because she worked at her daycare in high school. Joy is a first grader.

Ben is Joshua’s cousin and the son of Joshua’s Aunt Amy Thomas and Uncle John Thomas. Ben and Brooke met in 2016 when Brooke began working at Ben’s preschool, and became fast friends. Ben is ultimately the reason Brooke and Joshua met. He is now a fourth grader.

Also commonly known as “Dadoo,” Rob is Joshua’s father. He is the pastor of Christ Wesleyan church in Daphne, Alabama. He received his PhD in Theology from Durham University.
