It all began at Nativity Catholic School in 2005. We were both really cool and on the Math Team, and we randomly sat next to each other in the computer lab for practice. Jordy made me laugh the entire time and I definitely didn't do very many math problems. As I walked to my mom's van at the end of the day, he yelled "what's your AOL instant messenger name?!" "chatterboxb1234!!" I replied. A modern day love story! We dated through most of high school and dated long distance through college. We put thousands of miles on our cars driving between Orlando and Tallahassee every other weekend. We decided that wherever we were going for grad school, we would go together.

We celebrated our anniversary in Clearwater Beach, Florida on April 19th, 2014. Jordy rented a sailboat that took us to a private island. We had a picnic on the beach and afterwards took a walk down the shore to look for shells. Jordy brought us to a clearing where there was seaweed shaped into a heart. In the center of the heart was a clamshell. Jordy got down on one knee, opened the clamshell with a ring inside, and proposed! I'm pretty sure I was so nervous I grabbed the ring and he took it out of my hand to put it on my finger.

After getting engaged, we moved to a beautiful island in the Caribbean named Grenada, where Jordy went to medical school and I went to veterinary school. After finishing there, we moved back to the United States. We chose to get married in April 2019 because that's when we would both be done with school and finally have our lives together....still waiting for that to happen! Jordy is currently an Internal Medicine resident at Boca Regional Hospital. I am just a few months away from graduating vet school and will be working at Parkland Veterinary Hospital in February.
