Our story begins on the plaza outside our local New York City church. "Jonathan, meet Brooke. Brooke, meet Jonathan," a fellow parishioner said. However brief the introduction, the start of Jonathan and Brooke's courtship commenced! Three weeks later, we met again at a young adult mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral. It just so happened that a Nor'Easter storm began on our way out of the church. Avoiding the downpour was futile, so we ditched our umbrellas, got drenched to the bone, and prioritized spending time with each other while strolling through Times Square. Realizing the subways were flooded and taxis scarce, Jonathan grabbed a city bicycle and biked Brooke home while she sat in the front basket. The evening ended with a hug at Brooke's doorstep, an embrace that lasted a few seconds longer than it should have. There was an unexplainable excitement that came from knowing this person might be looking at the same sunset.   Two hopeless romantics with a New York City movie-set embarked on a series of adventures over the next few months. Jonathan showed Brooke the great state of New Jersey, featuring the local Dairy Queen, while Brooke gave Jonathan a taste of what life was like out West. It became ever more apparent that the puzzle pieces were falling into place, built on a foundation of faith and endless fun together. Our first trip to Colorado featured a New Year's Day stay at The Broadmoor hotel. We didn’t know it at the time, but that historic hotel would become the backdrop of our engagement just one year later.   On December 28, 2022, Jonathan knelt down on one knee in front of The Broadmoor Christmas tree. Eyes filled with life’s sweetest tears, Brooke said yes.   Fast forward to today, we've cherished every moment getting to know, getting to serve, and getting to love one another.
