Till Death

Like any good modern romance, it started with a swipe. In July 2020, we met on Hinge (thank-you algorithm), and just a few messages later we were sitting across from each other on the patio at Chuuk in Pickering—while it poured rain. It could have been a disaster but instead we talked for hours and forgot about the storm. Shortly after date one, Joël met Billie, because it was the pandemic and what else was there to do but go for long walks on the beach. The father-daughter vibes were apparent from the day they met. As a rescue dog from Texas, Billie had some daddy issues that needed nurturing. Call Joël her nurturer. It didn't take long to recognize we had a good thing going, but what really sealed the deal was surviving the pandemic in a 600 square foot condo—a true compatibility test that we passed with flying colours. Perhaps it was making those biweekly prime rib dinners that kept us sane. Prime rib > Sourdough. From condo to home ownership, job promotions and changes and everything in between, the growth, love and support only strengthened our bond. Joël has learned to love Brooke’s obsession with organization and keeping the house clean and Brooke has learned to live with Joël wearing his outside clothes in bed and grown fond of the 7 hour golf day. Balance amirite? But seriously, from jumping off 25 foot cliffs, pendulum free falls, swimming in bioluminescent oceans, cigar nights by the fire, winter adventuring with Billie, sea bass fridays, Tim Dillon and Heather McMahan podcasts, that time we appeared on A&E's Property Virgins and millions of made up songs (mostly about Billie), it's been nothing short of wildly perfect. From swipe to soulmate, this Billie Joël gang is making it official and we NEED you there to help us celebrate. TILL DEATH! XOXO, BJB<3
