We met back in high school. Jeremiah asked me to his junior year prom and we hit it off. It must have been his dance moves at prom that really sealed the deal. We remained friends throughout that following summer and into Jeremiah's senior year and my junior year of high school. After spending almost every weekend together getting to know one another, Jeremiah decided to make it official and ask me to be his girlfriend. Oh course, I said yes! That's how our story began.
On December 1st, Jeremiah took me to a Christmas tree farm to pick out our first Christmas tree together in our new apartment. Upon arrival, we set out to find the "perfect Christmas tree" to cut down. After a long period of walking, we realized that there was a shortage of trees that year. Jeremiah suggested splitting up to cover more ground, and I was beginning to feel like we were never going to find a tree. At that moment, he called out, "I think I found the one." When I approached the tree that he was standing by, I couldn't help but notice that it was stumpy and bare, so I exclaimed, "this one?" As I turned towards the front of the tree that's when I spotted an ornament that said, "Our First Christmas Engaged." As I turned back around to face Jeremiah, he was on one knee holding out a box with a diamond ring. Among the excitement and shock, I somehow managed to get out the word, "YES" and we were engaged.
