Jake and I met in Lubbock, TX on September 15th, 2020, the day before my 21st birthday. My parents were in town to celebrate, so the three of us made a dinner reservation at The Funky Door. Our server that night was a handsome man named Jake Bowles, who left a very solid first impression. The whole evening Jake was attentive, charming, and made lots of great conversations with us. My mom discreetly asked Jake if he was single and he said yes. When we received the bill, my mom suggested I leave my name and number for him; however, I felt too shy to do so. She said, "If you don't, then I'll do it for you," and with that, my mom proceeded to write down my phone number. Later that night, Jake texted me a sweet message, and that was just the beginning!
