SURPRISE! WE'RE ALREADY MARRIED!!
Question

When did you get married?

Answer

July, 1st 2024

Question

Why did you choose to get married before October 25th?

Answer

Our original plan was to marry October 25th. We booked the venue, ordered the invitations and planned for that date earlier this year. However, mid June, the Biden administration opened up a special program regarding legality for immigrants that we thought Gio and I could apply for. Unfortunately, as a couple, we did not fulfill the requirements for that particular program, but we were able to get a huge head start on a different program that will ultimately keep Gio safe here in the States. As we all know, we are living in very uncertain times and it was most important for the two of us to move forward in this regard to ensure that Gio and I will not be separated for any duration of time after beginning our lives together.

Question

Does this make October 25th less special?

Answer

Not at all! Although Gio and I have purchased our home months ago, we will not be living together until the evening of October 25th. This is a day we are very much looking forward to because it marks the start of us living our new lives as a married couple. It is also the day that we can celebrate our union with our family and friends, as we originally intended.

Question

Will we still have a ceremony?

Answer

Yes, Gio and I will still be having a ceremony. Every bride dreams of being walked down the isle in her white dress and being given away in front of her family and friends. I am no different and as a couple, we want all of you to be present on this day that will mark the beginning of our new lives together. However, because we have already taken our marriage vows, our vows will be stated in the past tense as a reiteration of the dedication that we have already made to each other.

Question

Why are we sharing this with you now?

Answer

Gio and I have always been honest people and we knew that eventually this information would circulate. We didn't want anything to mar this beautiful day or change the way any of our guests feel about our union after the fact. We hope all of our guests understand why we made the decision we did and how important our formal ceremony still is to us. We love all of you and graciously thank you for your support! We can't wait to celebrate our marriage with you!
