Everything You Need to Know About Our Winter Park Wedding.
Question

Where is the Wedding?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will all be held at Lunch Rock which is an alpine lodge situated at 11,200 feet atop Mary Jane Mountain. The ceremony will be held outside (weather permitting), the cocktail hour will be both inside and outside, and the reception will be inside.

Question

How will I be getting to and from the Ceramony and Reception Space?

Answer

Guests will meet at the base of the Gondola where a staff member will direct you through the exit line. Unlike traditional chairlifts, this enclosed Gondola has a slower loading and unloading process to ensure a smooth experience. From Sunspot Lodge, guests will be directed to shuttles that will take you on a 7-minute ride up to Lunch Rock, where our ceremony and reception will take place. After the celebration, all guests will be shuttled back down to the resort grounds. We want everyone to feel comfortable and included, so if anyone needs assistance reaching the top of the mountain, ski patrol is available to help. Just let us know in advance.

Question

How do I get around Winter Park?

Answer

The Lift is a FREE transit system that serves Winter Park, Fraser & Granby. Summer hours: 7:30 am - 2:30 am. There is no Lyft or Uber in Winter Park.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The weather in Winter Park in July is mildly warm, with an average high of 73°F and low of 43°F. The ceremony will be on top of the mountain (11,200ft), so expect it to be extra windy! We highly encourage bringing an extra layer for the evening when the temperature cools. It is not uncommon for the mountains to experience a thunderstorm between 12-2 during the summer.

Question

How do you prevent altitude sickness?

Answer

We recommend staying in the Denver Metro area (below 7,000 feet) the first day to give your body time to adjust. Avoid strenuous exercise and consumption of alcohol/caffeine on your first day. Prioritize hydrating your body by drinking lots of water and electrolytes. We also highly recommend sunscreen. At altitude, there's less protection from the sun and you can burn quickly! Water will be readily available throughout the duration of the ceremony and reception. Two members from the Ski Patrol will also be in attendance.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests refrain from taking photos during the ceremony so we can all be fully present in the moment. We’ve hired a professional photographer to capture the special memories, and we want you to experience the ceremony without distractions. However, feel free to take as many photos as you'd like during the cocktail hour and reception!

Question

Do I have a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to the size of our venue, the guest list is RSVP only. If you are allowed a plus one, it will be noted on your invitation.
