It was October 2018, and 23-year-old Brooke Rosenberg was going to an event at Caswell Station, a local sports bar in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before she arrived, her friend Marissa got a text: A new guy had just moved to town - he was 27, single, and a Physical Therapist. The text was a mass message, and Brooke was one of the only girls who didn’t get the “tip” about this new, nice Jewish boy. Apparently, someone thought she was “too young” for him? Ha! By the time Brooke and Marissa arrived, mysterious new guy Gary Schneider was surrounded by girls. It was like a group date on The Bachelor (one of Brooke’s favorite shows!) – truly, everyone wanted to meet him! When Brooke and Gary finally had the chance to talk … they immediately clicked. Sparks flew, the stars aligned, it was love at first conversation. A couple weeks later, they ran into each other again. Then, they hung out for nearly a full week straight. And the rest is history! (Just ask their puppy Caswell.)

In February of 2022, the Rosenbergs and the Schneiders all met up in Aptos, CA at the Rosenberg's beach house to officially meet in person. On Saturday night, February 19th, the group walked to the beach to take some photos before going to dinner. While walking down the sand, Brooke noticed a photographer was suspiciously close to them… While everyone was trying to figure out how to best take a group family shot, Gary's dad Steve asked the nearby photographer if they could help take a photo. After this “random” photographer took their group photo, Gary asked them to just get a couple shots of him and Brooke. When Brooke and Gary were posing for the shot, Gary got down on one knee and asked Brooke to marry him!
