WE MATCHED... on tinder that is. Little did I know Eric Weaver from a small town in northern California was going to be my future husband. Next it was time to exchange snapchats to communicate. We had a 90 day streak before actually meeting in person 4 months later. I was out with some friends in Laguna messaging Eric to finally meet up, an hour later him and Shane showed up. YAY! From that point on we started dating and having lots of fun going to out on the town in Long Beach. I was 23 and Eric had just turned 25 so going out to the trendy bars and underground speakeasy's where we spent most fall nights of 2016.
Growing up next to the beach was amazing, but I always loved going to Big Bear on the weekends. Big Bear had grown on Eric too, even though he had higher standards of mountains growing up next to Tahoe. It had become our favorite weekend getaway destination. He found a cabin on Air b n b and off we were! We decided on Saturday morning we would wake up and hike Cougar Trail. At this point I had suspicions of a possible proposal so before he woke up I scanned all of his bags for a ring, no luck! Up the mountain we went, 3 miles up was not an easy task for us. When we finally made it to the top of Mount Birtha Eric had become weird and I was tired. As I was setting up my phone on a rock to take a photo, I turned around and he was on one knee asking me to marry him. After the excitement and shock I said yes! Thankfully he knew me well enough that he hid the ring in his jacket pocket so he could still surprise me. All the happiness made it a very easy hike down!
