Train
Chicago uses a contactless system called Ventra. You can use credit card, Apple Pay / Google Pay, or get the Ventra app. No need to buy tickets in advance - just tap and go. Train not an option? Ubers are always available which can be more costly, but buses cover areas the trains don’t and run often - Google Maps recommended.
Flight
From O’Hare Airport: Take the Blue Line straight into the city — no transfers needed. From Midway Airport: Take the Orange Line into the city. Uber or taxi recommended if traveling at night.
Travel Note
We recommend hotels over AirBnB or VRBO due to cost, but a rental may be more affordable for larger parties. For first time Chicago visitors, we recommend staying close to Michigan avenue to make it easier to see downtown Chicago.
