We’re getting married!

We were set up on a blind date by Dakota’s Aunt Stephanie. We had our “first date” at Buffalo Wild Wings, we had to keep it very casual because we were both so nervous! It only took a few minutes for the nerves to go away but because Dakota is always trying to make people laugh or make them smile, he decided to order the hottest chicken wings that he could get just to try and “impress” me. Well, the only drink he ordered was a Red Bull that was not even cold. He immediately started sweating and turned very red because the wings were so hot but he tried to act like everything was fine. I laughed during that entire dinner and I knew that if he would do this on our first date just to ease the nerves, then he would do anything just to make someone smile and that made me so happy. Fast forward 3 years, on our anniversary, we were up north at my grandparents house. While I was watching The Grinch (for the 30th time that weekend) he was busy shoveling a trail in the snow from the house down to the lake. He shoveled a big heart on the frozen lake and that’s where we stood when he proposed! My brother and one of my best friends (Bri) drive 4 hours just to secretly take pictures which I loved and appreciated so much. He was so nervous that he could hardly get any words in the moment which I thought was the sweetest thing ever. Once we got back up to the house, he told me everything he wanted to say and we talked about how excited we were for our future. Because there was so much snow up there, we didn’t want to leave the house so we ordered pizza, turned the fireplace on and watched Christmas movies! It was a dream come true for me because everything about winter is my favorite and I couldn’t have imagined anything more perfect.
