When should we start booking flights / hotels?

Answer

We would recommend booking around 6 months in advance, which would be August 2024!

When should we leave to get to Thailand?

Answer

Thailand is 12 hours ahead of the US. We would recommend leaving by Thurs Jan 30, 2025 to get there by Sat Feb 1 (The flight time is 24+ hours, depending on layovers).

What should we expect to spend on flights?

Answer

Right now, google flights from US -> Thailand round trip shows as ~$2,000 per person, or $4,000 per couple.

Do we fly straight to Chiang Rai or to Bangkok first?

Answer

Strongly recommend Bangkok first with a domestic flight to Chiang Rai! US straight to Chiang Rai is around $10k, but flying to Bangkok first and then domestic flight to CR is ~$2k.

How does transportation work?

Answer

Our research recommends renting rides while in Thailand, like Uber or similar. https://www.thaitaxis.com/thailand_car_rental.html has all day car/driver rentals for as low as $50/day (10 hours)

Actually, this trip is reserved for just our closest friends! We will be having a larger family/friends celebration in North Carolina, Summer 2025 to celebrate with everyone!
