We met about a month into freshman year Biology class. Brooke instantly had a crush. Alex? He thought he’d made a new friend. Classic. Brooke told her friends, “That boy is 100% going to be something major to me one day.” And even though she didn’t say it out loud, she knew she was going to marry him. Now she just had to figure out how to convince him (she was in her Lover era, obviously). Over the next couple of years, they went from lab partners to best friends—and finally, on August 6th, 2014, Alex asked Brooke to be his girlfriend. She said yes (cue the invisible confetti and Taylor Swift playing softly in the background). From that moment on, they were pretty much inseparable. The next several years were filled with the good stuff: late-night Taco Bell runs, Netflix marathons, Alex on Xbox, Brooke building dream homes in The Sims, concerts, vacations, and Brooke slowly converting Alex into a reluctant Swiftie (he says she's "okay", but he totally knows all the words to You Belong With Me — don’t let him fool you). Along the years, their little family started growing — with four of the sweetest, quirkiest cats: Athena, Arizona, Addy, and Hamilton. Each one came into their lives at just the right time and completely stole their hearts. These four furballs are their whole world and constant source of laughter, love, and cat hair (so much cat hair). Life at home just wouldn’t be the same without them. In 2022, they spontaneously booked a Mediterranean cruise to finally start chasing their dream of traveling the world together. Brooke thought they were just planning their first big trip abroad. Alex, however, had a slightly bigger plan in mind. On October 17th, 2023, at the Trevi Fountain in Rome—after NINE years of dating (yes, nine!) —Alex got down on one knee and asked Brooke to spend forever with him. She said YES (in a moment that was basically a real-life music video, minus the choreography). Since then, they’ve kept cruising, planning their dream wedding, and are prepping for their baby boy's arrival in July of 2026. Their love story may not have made it into a Taylor Swift song yet, but it’s definitely one for the playlist.
