In December 2020, Vinny was visiting his sister and brother-in-law, Alana and Nick, in Austin. They were going out in downtown Austin one night and invited their friends Kelly and Brant to join them. Kelly asked Brooke if she wanted to go as well. We all met up at Buford's on West Sixth Street, and Vinny and Brooke sat next to each other at the table. We went to a couple of bars that night and at one of them, Vinny challenged Brooke to a game of pop-a-shot and the loser to had to buy the other one a drink. Brooke ended up losing, but Vinny being the nice guy that he is, paid for the drinks instead. At the end of the night, Vinny kissed Brooke but forgot to ask for her phone number. Flash forward one month to New Year's Eve, and Brooke and Alana are hanging out again. Alana facetimes with her family, and Vinny says "tell Brooke I said hello". We finally exchanged phone numbers and started texting. In February 2021, Alana, Nick, Brant and Kelly were going on a ski trip to Beaver Creek, Colorado, and since Vinny was living in Denver at the time, he was planning to join them. They invited Brooke to come along as well, so they ended up on a couple's weekend trip only meeting one time before this. Vinny and Brooke acted like boyfriend/girlfriend all weekend, and Brooke was very sad to go back to Texas, but she knew she would likely see him again when he moved to Austin that summer for a travel contract. Over the next couple of months, Vinny and Brooke lost touch, but the night he moved to Austin in June 2021 for his next travel assignment, Vinny texted Brooke. They hung out all summer in Austin before Vinny left for California in October. Once Vinny left Austin, they kept in touch very well this time, and Brooke visited Vinny in California in December 2021. A week after Brooke leaving California, Vinny called and said "What are we doing? Why don't we make this official?" So one year after meeting, the "situation-ship" was finally over, and they entered into a long distance relationship. Vinny and Brooke visited each other multiple times over the next few months and started their love of travel together. They did two cross country road trips from San Francisco to Austin and then Columbus to Boston. In November 2022, Brooke joined Vinny on the road, and they moved to Nashville together. In June 2023, they moved to Seattle for a year. In February 2024, they went to Florida with Brooke's family, and on that trip, Vinny proposed. Brooke said "of course!" and now here we are!
