(As told by Brooke) Our (unknowingly) mutual friend, Agathe, invited me to attend service at BridgePoint Church in Downtown St. Petersburg. During service, I sat behind a blond guy with an extremely short haircut and pronounced shoulders and neck. I was thinking, "He's definitely in the military." Everyone was saying hello to one another after service finished and I COULD NOT stop catching glances of this guy and noticed he was looking, too. Agathe introduced everyone to me and learned his name; Alan. We all went to get brunch at 2nd and Second. At first, Alan and I were squished in a booth next to each other, but he's a dude and needs all the elbow and leg room in order to eat. So, I swung around to sit across from him. We exchanged some TV and movie quotes and quickly realized we shared the same sense of humor. After brunch, I texted Agathe, "Okay, but Alan is cute though." After a few weeks of group get togethers, we finally decided to hang out independent from everyone. Alan chose to hammock downtown. The burning question, "So, who is Alan?", was all I could think to ask because I'm awkward around guys I think are attractive. We learned about each others childhood, families, ages (we were both in disbelief), and everything between. Alan was turning out to be a miniature version of my father and we all know how the old adage goes. I'm not necessarily sure when or what, but during that conversation I knew he was The One!
