we're getting married

Brody and Samantha met in July of 2022 during a baptism at St. Jude’s Roman Catholic Church in Eddystone Pennsylvania. The baptism was for the son of Brody’s Godfather and good friend, while Samantha was there as moral support for one of her friends, who was also in attendance. While waiting on the steps for the ceremony to start, Samantha noticed Brody standing behind her. Thinking he must have been family to the one getting baptized, Sam waved him past her and she walked further down the steps, “You can go in front of me, I’m not important.” Little did they know, they would be starting forever together in just a couple more months. In October, Brody and Samantha met again in the same church hall after mass and in November, Brody had asked to her to court him. Brody would often visit her at work on her lunch break and cook them something off of Pinterest to eat. The couple had many adventures; riding to the wrong hospital (one hour in the wrong direction) to get stitches after Samantha cut her finger in shop class, a St. Valentine’s Day picnic that unbeknownst to them was the same location that Samantha’s parents took their wedding photos, an amazing CAKE concert, and countless trips to antique stores. Brody and Samantha also enjoy to this day, painting, reading, and most importantly praying together. Unfortunately, the day before their first anniversary as a couple, Brody was sent to Africa on deployment with the US Air Force, and spent an uncertain seven months over seas. However, God willed that their relationship would grow stronger despite the distance. The couple continued to call for a couple minutes every day, sometimes managing a movie, live-streamed on Discord that they could watch at the same time. When Brody returned home safely, the couple were attached at the hip- “two peas in a pod” as Brody’s father puts it! The couple still love to paint, read, and pray together, as well as sing very loudly in the car, ice skate, practice speaking German together on Duolingo, and make rosaries. Brody proposed to Samantha on December 21st 2024, at the ice skating rink she used to go to as a child. While tying her ice skates, Brody got on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage - Sammy was so surprised she was speechless…until she remembered to actually answer the question! She of course said yes, and by the grace of God they will live happily ever after…
