things to do

we're excited for you to explore portland! below are a few of our favorite restaurants, as well as some adventures you can take outside of portland. there's so much to see in the pacific northwest that we couldn't list it all - please reach out if you have any questions, or want any advice when planning your trip!
oregon coast

oregon coast

a great day trip! 1.5 hours from our house, there are lots of different places to explore on the oregon coast. if you like the movie "goonies" head to cannon beach to see the famous haystock rock. seaside and lincoln city are other popular coastal towns. stop in tillamook and visit the cheese factory! even in the summer the coast can be chilly - so be sure to check the weather before you go.

mount hood

mount hood

spend the day on the mountain! a beautiful 1.5 hour drive will get you to trillium lake, where on a clear day you can see a reflection of the mountain. fans of the movie "the shining" should also stop at timberline lodge (and enjoy some chowder!) if you like hiking - tom, dick and harry mountain is nearby. a moderate hike with views of mount hood, mount saint helens, mount rainier, and mount adams when you reach the top!

multnomah falls

bullard

bullard

one of our favorite restaurants - we went here to celebrate our engagement on our second anniversary. owned by chef doug adams from top chef season 12, this restaurant has a texas meets oregon meat-centric menu.

salt & straw

salt & straw

a very unique ice cream parlor. lots of unusually delicious flavors (pear & blue cheese?!) you'll need to stand in line, but it's worth it. sample flavors when you get to the front (even the ones that scare you). kylie's personal favorite: arbequina olive oil.

waterfront blues fest

waterfront blues fest

every july 4th weekend portland celebrates with a blues festival held on the sw waterfront

portland breweries

portland breweries

portland is known for it's beer. a few of our favorites: little beast, cascade, ecliptic, 10 barrel head to loyal legion where they have over 99 beers on tap, or do a brew tour on the brewcycle!
