A Wedding In Black

Brock and I first crossed paths in July 2024 at a goth dance party. I was coming out of a two-year relationship and rediscovering pieces of myself I had put aside. Brock, known for his incredible dance moves, immediately caught my attention. He made me laugh, and that night we shared brief stories about our lives—then went our separate ways without even exchanging names or numbers. About a month later, while searching for a new place to live, I came across a rental listing and scheduled a tour. When I arrived, we instantly recognized each other from that dance night. What felt like pure fate led me to move in as his roommate. One week later, we went to a concert something I had forgotten the joy of —our first date. From then on, we stayed up talking until five in the morning, laughing, sharing our life experiences, and our stories; slowly opening our hearts. We soon discovered how much we had in common and how deeply we understood one another in ways no one ever had. Having both been through our share of heartbreak and trials in life, we chose to love each other fully and intentionally—giving the kind of love we both deserved from the start. We learned that love rises above circumstances, expectations, and especially odds. Love, above all else, brought us together.
