How We Met

09/12/2015

Our story begins with a whirlwind of changes and emotions one fall at Indiana University. For Rosie, she was starting her freshman year. For Brock, he was starting his first year at IU after transferring for his sophomore year. One hot August morning on the first day of class, we started class Monday morning bright and early at 8 a.m. for Spanish class. Rosie was the first thing I noticed when I walked in that morning. She had this certain glow about her and I could not take my eyes off of her. After weeks of slowly making conversation and sitting closer to her, I finally found the courage to ask her out. Ironically, that courage came from a bet. Yep, that is right. A bet I made with my best friend Ryan that entailed asking out the prettiest girl we knew in our classes to a party our friend Austin was throwing that weekend. Well I knew when I made that bet who I would be asking. After asking her out, Friday night came around and we planned to meet out front of Austin's. Rosie said she was on her way and after a long night waiting I realized she was not going to show up. I know, bummer right? The next day IU had an evening football game at home against FIU. Ryan, Jordan, and I were out at the tailgate fields having a good time when behind them I noticed that same familiar glow walking in our direction. It was Rosie! As petty as I can be I impulsively yelled, "Hey! There's the girl who ditched me last night!" She laughed and smiled and apologized and told me the story as to why she didn't show up the night before. Long story short she fell asleep in her dorm after hanging out with her friends before the party started. So, after hanging out with my friends for a few moments Jordan and Ryan pushed me along and said to go watch the game with Rosie and her friends. We watched the game together and the rest is history. This may not be the Hollywood love story, but for anyone who knows our personalities, the spontaneous moments are what made it perfect for us.

The Proposal

3/13/18

We had a vacation to Cancun, Mexico planned for months and little did I know, Brock was planning on popping the question at this time. The weather was beautiful and the beach was relaxing and I did not think this vacation could get any better. On our last night there, Brock said we should go take a walk on the beach while the sun was setting, romantic right? We walked along the beach for a while and talked about us and about how we could not imagine spending our lives with anyone else. All of a sudden, Brock got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and of course I cried and said yes. It was a dream come true. We both are so excited to share this moment and to spend the rest of our lives together.
