We met at the Dusty Armadillo on Brock's 21st birthday. I was there with my friends and he was there with his celebrating his birthday. A song came on called "Kiss the Girl" which is a partner dance. He came up to me and asked if I knew the dance to the song. When I said no he asked me if I would like to learn it. I said sure and he began to teach me the dance. At the end of the dance he asked me for my number. The next day he texted me and said I remember who you are and the night but I don't remember your name (in his defense he is really bad at names) so I reintroduced myself and we began talking. Our first date was October 27th at the Dalton Dariette, after that we went back to his house and watched a movie and carved pumpkins. Five years later, here we are.
July 8th, 2018 we boarded a plane for a vacation in Oahu, Hawaii. We went with family and family friends on an amazing two-week vacation in paradise. We went hiking to waterfalls, climbed a volcano, went to nearly every beach on the island, tried surfing, and ate a ton of amazing food. On July 19th, we were getting ready to go to dinner at Haleiwa Joe's. Once we were both ready he walked me to the beach at the backyard of the house and said we should take some pictures for my mom. When I was turned around facing the ocean he had gotten down on one knee and asked me to turn back around and face him. Then he asked me to marry him. After saying yes and enjoying a few moments together by the beach we walked back to the house where everyone had been watching from the windows and balcony. Then we went to our first dinner as an engaged couple at the restaurant.
