How We Met

We met on November 9th, 2017 while I was playing basketball at the Lake Superior State University gym with a friend. He came to the gym and started playing with us. We all went to dinner that night, watched the movie Baby Driver. After that night Brock asked me out on what he called a “proper” date. (I thought it was cute since in today’s world a first date can mean anything now). On November 13th, Brock took me out to a restaurant called The Palace and watched the movie Top Gun. We spent hours talking and laughing. The next day Brock came over and asked me to be his girlfriend. Since then he’s stolen my heart.

The I-75N Ditch

Brock was driving us back from a really nice date in Mackinaw City at night. It was raining in Mackinaw City and I knew that meant it was ice in Sault Ste Marie, but Brock was trying to impress me and drive in the weather. Well Brock did so well at impressing me we ended up in a ditch about 8 miles outside of Sault Ste Marie. I was laughing thinking that it was great time. No date is complete without a trip to the local ditch! Brock was scared that I was going to leave him because of it. It just made me love him more. I got to spend another hour with him listening to "Danger Zone" while getting towed out of the ditch.

The Southern Lighthouse

This story begins on MacKenzie's first trip down to Florida with me. She was quite skeptical of enjoying Florida, so I thought I would take her to a little place that I love, St. Augustine. So seeing how there were so many lighthouses in Michigan, I thought she would like to see a lighthouse down south. MacKenzie and I went to the St, Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum. She and I started a little journey up the lighthouse, we got to the 3rd floor and MacKenzie was already questioning how many more steps (219 steps) we had to take to reach the top. We took each step together one at a time. After 30 minutes of trudging up the stairs , we finally made it to the top. The view was breathtaking especially for MacKenzie since she is not a fan of heights (even though she adores being in airplanes). After MacKenzie got back to a normal breathing rate she got to enjoy the view. Looking from the coastline heading out into the ocean and the other side the old town of St. Augustine. We both fell in love with it and we can't wait to make special little visits back to the beautiful town. Next time as husband and wife.

Traitors

After Matthew and Haven (my younger siblings) first met Brock they immediately adored him. They came to me and made this threat "If you and Brock break up, we are keeping Brock and disowning you". Well you little traitors, you don't have to disown me. You are gaining an older brother... Good Luck! I am just glad that they all get along.
