we're getting married!

We met for the very first time in August of 2023 at lunch with friends at Fuego. To our chagrin, neither of us actually remember meeting at that time. All the proof we have of meeting that day is a photo that one of our mutual friends took. It wasn't until the spring of 2024 that we both actually recall formally meeting one another at a leader meeting, as we were both bible study leaders at church. Caroline remembers thinking she wanted to be friends with Brock, because everyone gathered around him always seemed to be laughing. Brock in typical fashion, does not remember his perception of Caroline before they actually met. Once we did though, it was a wonder we didn’t start dating sooner. Over the course of summer 2024, we became good friends. Hanging out after church functions multiple times out of the week, we found ourselves spending a lot of time together... and laughing ALL THE TIME. When the fall came, our time together only multiplied. Caroline found herself on Brock's front porch just about every other day. Lots of homework, silent bible reading, guitar picking and tea-sipping was done on that porch. Sometimes in silence, sometimes not. We also went to just about every football game together that season. There were many questions and dating accusations coming from our friends, but throughout the semester we continued to deny having any feelings for one another. It wasn't until we were about to part ways for Christmas break that the truth came out... and Brock asked Caroline out on a date. During the Christmas break, we didn't really want to wait a whole month to see one another. So, Brock actually came ALL THE WAY to East Texas to visit Caroline's (entire) family for a day. Wild. We know. As we came back from break and reunited in College Station, it didn't take too many dates before Brock asked Caroline if he could be her boyfriend on January 12th, 2025. On the back porch this time. (: We soaked up the time we had together in the same city as much as we could, but inevitably May 17th came, and we were forced to begin our long distance season. I-45 is now very familiar to us both — a road marked by countless prayers, tearful goodbyes, and joyful reunions. This season hasn’t been without its challenges, but the Lord has used it to sanctify us and grow our love for one another! Our "yes day" was February 21st and the best day is 7 months later: September 20th! We’re so excited to close the distance this summer — and even more excited to start our forever as husband and wife. We are so expectant to see how the Lord will use us in the expansion of His Kingdom TOGETHER!
