Abby and Brock met on the first day of freshman orientation at the University of Texas at Austin. Both of us were participating in the various activities and had planned to attend an outdoor event; if it had not gotten rained out, we may not have met! We left freshman orientation glued to our phones, texting each other non-stop about anything and everything. Brock will say he fell in love after seeing Abby dance for the first time; Abby will say she fell in love after our first kiss in September of 2017. Both will say they fell hard.

Over our college years, we enjoyed just spending time together and going out for meals between study and work. Abby would often wait for Brock to finish his shift at Pluckers, and we would walk home together after enjoying some chicken wings. Both of us continued to chase our dreams and career goals by being involved in school clubs. Brock played for UT's esports teams, competing against other schools in Counter Strike, while Abby became President of her business organization ALPFA while also learning to dance in the Latin Dancing club.

When the pandemic hit, we were forced into long-distance for two years while we finished our undergrad. Brock would travel up to Denton multiple times a month just to spend as much time with Abby as he could. Abby began work on her Master's degree, and Brock started his career. After Abby finished her Master's, we finally moved into our first apartment together in Denton! We were so excited to have our first real home and officially start our lives.

Brock took Abby horseback riding in December to propose. Brock had planned to ask on the trail, but in a poetic turn of events, it started raining. Once we got home to dry off and warm up, Brock proposed while we sat on the couch in our pajamas. Abby laughed and said yes! Now, we are so excited to step into this new chapter together!
