Our story spans a few years, a few cities, and two countries! It all began in the summer of 2023 in Paris, France. Carter was a bike tour guide, Britton was an au pair, and despite both being Aggies, we had never met—or even heard of each other. That changed on June 9, when Britton was invited to dinner with a group of Aggie guys and ended up sitting next to a cute stranger at the iconic pizza spot, Casa Di Peppe. Throughout dinner, Carter slipped into tour‑guide mode, sharing his favorite thrift stores, restaurants, and hidden gems around the city. That summer, we kept finding our way back to each other—dancing at the famous jazz bar Caveau de la Huchette, wandering the Saint‑Ouen flea market in search of a Jimi Hendrix cassette tape, and walking the cobblestone streets while getting to know each other along the way. Our friendship began, ironically, in the City of Love. Back in College Station, we ended up living across the street from each other in the Historic District. Over time, our friendship grew, along with a mutual crush. Britton may or may not have played damsel in distress a few times, turning bike problems into an excuse to ask former bike tour guide Carter for help. Fast forward a year… rumor on the street: Carter was FINALLY going to ask Britton out! One morning, he called to see if she was home, walked across the street to her back porch, and asked her on their first date—paddleboarding and sandwiches on Lake Bryan. Six hours later, the afternoon had completely gotten away from us (and Britton had missed a meeting… worth it). The fun dates continued: a trivia night, a speakeasy (if you know, you know), two‑stepping at a steakhouse, shooting shotguns at milk jugs, the county fair, runs, and date parties. On October 25, 2024, walking home from a DG date party dressed as Woody and Bo Peep, we made it official! A month and a half later, Carter graduated and moved to Dallas. Britton joined him after graduating in May 2025, but our time in the same city was short‑lived before Carter moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin, for work. Much of our first year of dating was long distance—filled with FaceTime dates and weekend trips to see each other in College Station, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Boston, and La Crosse. Distance tested us, and time shaped us—but across cities, states, and seasons, our love only grew stronger. We learned the importance of communication, quality time, and growing our personal relationships with Christ. When Carter moved back to Dallas in November 2025, FaceTime finally became actual face time again. Our next step was getting a chocolate lab puppy named Rue, French for “street,” as a reminder of where it all began. Then, on Britton’s birthday, April 18, 2026, Carter pulled off the ultimate surprise at the Dallas Arboretum—getting down on one knee and asking his bride‑to‑be to marry him. A lot has happened since that pizza dinner in Paris—countless miles, long‑distance flights, weekend trips, FaceTime dates, finally living in the same city (for once and for all), and one very spoiled chocolate lab. We cannot wait for November 13th as we turn the page to our next chapter and begin our greatest adventure yet. Everyone reading this has played a part in our story, and we are so grateful to celebrate this day with you as we become one.
