Alex & Krystal’s story began, as many modern love stories do, with a mutual swipe right on Bumble in April of 2022. Their first date at Armature Works quickly proved this was something special—conversation came effortlessly, and within minutes, Alex felt like he had known Krystal forever. Krystal remembers thinking Alex was “tall and sexy,” and admired how openly he shared his intentions—so openly, in fact, that he mentioned wanting to marry her on that very first date. Instead of a traditional dinner, they spent the evening walking, talking, and eventually riding scooters through Tampa, making their way to Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. Somewhere between the laughter and a quiet moment by the fountains, their connection became undeniable. On the way back, they briefly stopped into a restaurant at Armature Works—less for dinner and more for the strategic goal of getting their valet ticket validated. While waiting in line, Alex wrapped his arms around Krystal, and without hesitation, she pulled them closer around her. In that simple, unspoken moment, he knew he would never let her go. Their lives aligned in unexpected ways. Though Alex had just moved to Florida months earlier and Krystal had lived there her whole life, they discovered on that first date that they shared the same passion—teaching. Today, Krystal teaches kindergarten and Alex teaches fourth grade at the same school, continuing to support one another every day. They officially began dating on May 13, 2022—Alex’s birthday, just one day after Krystal’s. Although he had planned to wait one more day to ask her, he simply couldn’t. Some things, as it turns out, aren’t meant to be delayed. Over the years, Alex and Krystal have built a life filled with shared passions and simple joys. Whether it’s spending time at Universal Studios Orlando or Walt Disney World, enjoying butterbeer ice cream, listening to alternative rock, relaxing with their favorite shows, or setting sail on one of their many cruises, their happiest moments are the ones spent together. On July 26, 2025, Alex brought their story full circle. After a “change of plans” at Armature Works, he convinced Krystal to ride scooters once again—this time leading her back to Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, part of where it all began. Surrounded by hidden family and friends, Alex got down on one knee. Overcome with emotion and shock, she nodded through tears before finally saying the word he had been waiting for—yes. Krystal’s outgoing and vibrant personality perfectly complements Alex’s quieter, more reserved nature, together they create a balance that feels effortless. She brings him out into the world, and he reminds her to slow down and enjoy the quiet moments—a partnership that continues to grow stronger with time. From a simple swipe to a lifetime together, Alex and Krystal’s story is one of timing, connection, and a love that felt certain from the very beginning.
