I honestly don't remember why I thought it was a good idea to visit Marston Farm Maple Syrup House on March 22, 2014. When a group of friends invited me to join watching the Marston's boil fresh maple syrup, how could I decline. This was the night I first met Benjamin, a few drinks and small talk later, we exchanged numbers and planned to meet up in the near future. Benjamin persisted in trying to pry me out of my shy and quiet shell, each day he showed me kindness and friendship even if I wasn't looking for it. Over time, I began to see just how amazing Benjamin was and began to cherish our conversations together. On July 2, 2014 Benjamin asked if I would become his girlfriend, and continue going on dates as an official couple. He frequently invited me to the Marston Farm to watch him milk cows, or work in the fields. He invited me to that years upcoming show season at the local fairs where I could watch him compete in his final shows as a 4H'er. He even convinced me to show with him. Sandwich Fair being the first fair that I was able to show 'his cows' I picked "Nugget" to show. The rest as they say (no matter how cheesy it is), is history.
On the fifth anniversary of me showing Nugget at the Sandwich fair, she won Supreme Champion of all breeds, when I turned around to greet the judge with the ribbon, it was Benjamin on one knee, the ribbon and a ring! I shouted "YES" and we were engaged! We are so excited to share this next chapter of our lives with you. See you in September!
