Who would have thought Avila University would connect the dots for the two of us for what we thought was a mere moment in life, yet turns out we get to be teammates for a lifetime. After transferring to AU from two different universities, we found ourselves sporting purple jerseys and cheering each other on from a distance. Throughout college we knew who each other were, yet only as close acquaintances. As the story goes, Gods timing is perfect timing. Fast forward two years later on a cold rainy evening in Kansas City, we ran into one another at a cross street and as chivalrous as Brandon was (and still is), he offered to take Brittney and her friend to their car to avoid torrential downpour that was only minutes later. Neither of us had any idea what that moment would mean and what felt so serendipitous at first, soon felt like we had known one another our whole lives. Over the first few months, full of intimate conversation about Christ and being equally yoked, led to two years full of many nights shared laughing until we cried over Kansas City's finest Mexican and ordering more than we could eat in sushi rolls, endless family gatherings and sporting events, traveling to new places near and far then led to discussing plans for the future. We realized rather than serendipity, these were in fact the plans God placed in our hearts. Despite our plans, our timeline mapped out for our life, and all the unexpected events experienced in 2020 (not to mention Brittney's rather curious mind and daily review of those near and dear to her on the Find My Friends App), Brandon was able to pull off a surprise engagement that was one for the books. Although we have enjoyed such an amazing chapter thus far, we are beyond excited to share a lifetime together as The DreamTeam. We cannot wait to celebrate our special date with all of you!
