My best friend Kaylie talked me into going tubing down the Huron River in Ann Arbor with her and a few of her new work friends. I was hesitant to go, but after some coercing I agreed. The night before she texted me "I hope Landon comes, you guys would make a hot couple." *insert eye roll here* The next day I pulled up to the river and there I saw him - tall (very tall), handsome, and blowing up an inflatable chicken. I greeted him with my name and a sarcastic comment - of which he handled flawlessly and then shot one right back at me. The rest is history.
We met on a river and got engaged on a river - two very different rivers (the Huron River in Ann Arbor, MI vs. the Yellowstone River in Pray, MT) but a fun fact nonetheless. Our trip to Montana was coming to an end, but we had fun plans for our last full day there. After spending the afternoon pushing our poor rental car to the limits on some off-road trails, we got all dressed up and headed to Sage Lodge. There we boarded a hand-made, wooden driftboat for a sunset float down the Yellowstone River. At the end of the float, we climbed out onto the river bottom, at the base of Emigrant peak, and Landon got down on one knee. I ugly cried and the photographer hidden in the bushes caught some priceless memories. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you! See you in Toledo!
