Wedding Party

Meet our friends and family who are walking down the aisle with us.

Katrina Oyanagi

Matron of Honor

Katrina (Katie) and Brittney met in kindergarten, where they discovered they shared a birthday and a middle name. Later they went on to share a dorm room, an apartment, and everything in between! Brittney and Katrina have experienced every stage of life together, and Brittney truly could not imagine getting married without Katrina by her side.

Joe Hale

Best Man

Drew (a kindergartener at Valentine Hills) was simply talking about catching a 3 pound bass over the weekend when another kid (Joe) overheard him and barged in to tell him he caught a 25 pound bass. Soon after, they planned play-dates to organize their tackle boxes and trade lures, wrestle in the basement on stacked up mattresses, and shoot bow and arrow in the backyard, ricocheting off tires into the neighbor's yard and the side of garages. They played basement pillow-pad hockey as Joe Sakic vs. Patrick Roy, putting holes in sheetrock and denting the water heater, and football as Brett Favre throwing to Randy Moss, embarrassing the recess peasant opponents. Now they're in their 30s, and one shows the other where to catch Florida salt water trout, and the other shows him how to catch them.

Anna Hable

Bridesmaid

Anna and Brittney were brought together when their younger brothers - Chris and Justin - played on the same Little League team. They weren't friendly at first, but one day Anna's dad John called Brittney to ask if Anna could shadow Brittney for a day during her freshman year at Coon Rapids High School, and the rest is history. From high school to college and beyond, Brittney is so lucky to have Anna as a best friend and bridesmaid!

Paul Myers

Groomsman

Drew and Paul met racing Pine Wood Derby and camping. Ever since, they've fished, hunted and laughed so hard they've cried more times than not. They made plans to one day be neighbors to do guy things for the rest of their lives, but may settle and start a medical device company together bouncing Doctor and Engineer ideas off one another. Paul is the most level-headed buddy he knows, so instead of googling symptoms, Drew just texts Paul.

Allyssa Mashak

Bridesmaid

Allyssa lived across the hall from Brittney in Dowling during her freshman year at St. Thomas. During a floor bonding event, Allyssa taught Brittney how to do the "stanky leg," and they've been dancing together ever since! In the years after college, Brittney and Allyssa's friendship has grown even more, and Brittney looks forward to having Allyssa stand with her at the wedding!

Steve Martinson

Groomsman

Drew and Steve met in middle school but didn't bond until high school while playing hockey, hunting and fishing together. With all the fun times, Steve has always been the most involved - calling to check in and have heart-to-hearts whenever they're together. Steve is an outstanding buddy to have, as he is renowned in places to eat, places to go, and knows more people than you could fathom. Drew can always count on Steve to call and ask what the “right thing to do” would be in any scenario.

Kayla Heitzman

Bridesmaid

Most people think Kayla and Brittney are joking when they say they've been friends since before they were born, but it's true! Their moms have been best friends for 50 years, were pregnant at the same time, and gave birth exactly 4 weeks apart. Kayla is like a sister to Brittney, and she can't wait to have her longest friend by her side!

Justin Klingl

Groomsman

Drew met Brittney's brother Justin shortly after Brittney and Drew started dating, and once Drew heard Justin was a mechanical engineer as well, Drew admired him. They worked closely cutting down trees, doing "J&D Construction," and one day they'll maybe actually charge the in-laws for their expertise. They quickly bonded playing in hockey leagues together and scrapping/sticking up for one another when it got chippy. If there's anyone to teach Drew about hockey or keep him in check on his favorite Penguins team, Justin is his guy.

Kari Murdy

Bridesmaid

As Kayla Heitzman's younger sister, Kari is the little sister Brittney never had (complete with childhood teasing and bickering!). Their almost 30-year bond is so special, and Brittney is thankful to have Kari as a lifelong sister/friend and as a bridesmaid!

Erik Bangasser

Groomsman

Drew and Erik met when one walked into 9th grade Spanish class with a beard and the other asked if he had been held back a few years. They bonded over hockey, and hunting and fishing trips. One even had to punch the other in the arm when he fell asleep driving up to the cabin in a rear-wheel drive Toyota tin can (we won't name names...). If there is anyone Drew ever needs to help put together a trip itinerary, he can always count on Erik to go along and execute.

Laura Duce

Bridesmaid

Brittney met Laura when she started her very first job in catering at the National Sports Center in 2008. They clicked immediately, and long, summer days at work eventually turned into many late nights out together at Wild Bill's. ;) It's actually through Laura how Brittney and Drew first met, as Drew and Laura have been close friends since their freshman year at Irondale High School. We both can't imagine our day without Laura!

Calvin Chow

Groomsman

Drew and Calvin have known each other since 6th grade, but didn't become close until they started getting swoll and working downtown together. They bonded over lunches downtown and Calvin teaching Drew about picking heavy things up and putting them down. Cal is one of the smartest and reasonable-minded guys Drew knows, so whenever he needs advice, he calls on Cal.

Kayla Miller

Bridesmaid

Kayla grew up down the street from Anna, so when Kayla started 9th grade at Coon Rapids High School, the morning carpool gang was complete! From sharing a locker, to traveling to Indianapolis to watch the Little League World Series Regionals, to boat days on the St. Croix, all of Brittney's best memories involve Kayla. We are so happy to have the Millers back living in Minnesota, and Brittney can't wait to have Kayla help celebrate our special day!

Alex Safe

Groomsman

Drew and Alex (Safe) met in biology lab in Mankato learning about Monday Night Football on Safe's phone and never looked back. They grew close lifting weights and competing against each other so much that when one got beat by Crosby in OT in a best-of-7 game of Xbox NHL tourney, he wouldn't talk to the opponent the whole night out on the college town. They bonded over similar life experiences and can always count on one another for late night garage talks.

Megan Bohan

Bridesmaid

Brittney and Megan grew up going to church together, and although never attended the same school, they would see each other when Brittney made trips to UW-Madison to visit Kayla and Kari. It wasn't until fall 2018 when Brittney needed a place to live near her student teaching placement in Woodbury, when Megan and her husband Alex so generously took Brittney in. :) Megan got a front row seat to the beginning of Brittney and Drew's relationship, and they became even closer in those 6 months of being roommates. Brittney is so excited to have Megan by her side for the wedding!

Mitch Kuhne

Groomsman

Mitch and Drew grew up camping together, playing football in the front yard, and getting in scuffles against the other neighborhood kids - always teaming up with one-another. They still team up together to this day. They've cried laughing during ice fishing and hunting adventures, and finding trouble just about wherever they go. If anyone's truck breaks down or runs out of gas, they know who they can count on for their first call.

Jennifer Elise

Bridesmaid

Shortly after they began dating, Drew introduced Brittney to his cousin, Jen, and they became fast friends - bonding over fashion, wine, and "Schitt's Creek." Brittney can always count on Jen for a humorous life update via Snapchat video, some fabulous hand-me-down clothes, or a good happy hour. Brittney is so thankful to have a close friendship with her soon-to-be cousin-in-law, and is thrilled to have her as a bridesmaid!

Dillon Vongharath

Groomsman

Dill and Drew didn't meet until they started playing softball together around the college era. Dill is truly one of the most loving and caring guys you'll meet, so it was easy for the two to connect and bond over similar life experiences. Dill may have the most friends but Drew considers him one of his closest. They have heart-to-hearts every time they see each other, so they'll always lean on one-another in the future.

Charlie

Goodest Girl

Griffey

Goodest Boy

Mark Werlein Jr.

Usher

Drew and Mark grew up just down the street from each other. In fact, they lived so close that Mark would wake Drew up by banging on the window to the point that Drew was so frustrated, he made a bowl of cereal to munch on as he made his way outside to see what was on fire. Usually something was on fire when the two came together with their mechanical minds. Mark has always been a younger brother to Drew and still owes him "unlimited Chipotle" for life, as they lived with one another at Drew's college house. It's waived due to all the precise auto work Mark has done to compensate, but that's actually just bonding time in disguise.

Ryan Bertuleit

Usher

Ryan and Drew grew up a block apart. Trips to Ryan's cabin are nothing new but still never taken for granted! If there is ever a time for a fishing guide service, Drew will just call Ryan. An all-around fisherman and DIYer that Drew can count on to bond with whenever they get together, whether they are trying to build things or meet up at secret fishing spots (almost always Ry's).
