Nick and Hannah first met in college when she transferred to Fitchburg State University in the fall of 2016. Through a twist of fate, they were cast as a divorced couple in a comedy performance of a murder mystery play. Ironic. Who would have guessed that the loud theatre boy and the new bookish girl on the block would have worked so well together, or that their love would have grown so strong? But, their story had already been written in the stars. The pair started dating early spring of 2017. For her birthday, in June of 2019, Nick surprised Hannah with a beautiful promise ring. Taken aback by the beautiful gesture, she accepted. Little did she know that Nick knew then, that he would propose to this girl as soon as he could. Nick saved and prepared for this moment for years, designing a unique ring on his own for her, he waited until he knew the time was right. Nick proposed to Hannah on October 1st of 2021. It was a beautiful Friday afternoon, Nick had picked Hannah up from school for a surprise date night. Instead, they pulled up to a familiar destination. The pair had made many memories by the waterfall and interlocking streams of Willard Brook. He walked her to the bridge overlooking the falls. Nick ran back to the car saying he forgot something, grabbing his guitar and the ring hidden in his guitar case. A natural performer, Hannah had no reason to suspect a life-changing event. Alone, alongside the falls amongst the foliage, Nick played and sang the lovely song "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz. Upon strumming his last note, he fell to one knee and opened a little black box. All Hannah could think to say was, "Shut Up!" repeatedly. His exact words will remain private, but Nick ended his speech with one massive question, "Will you marry me?" After a lot of screaming, shaking, and yelling about still wearing her work clothes, nearly about to faint, Hannah finally said, "Yes!" Nick and Hannah moved into their first apartment in Fitchburg soon after. They have one pet rabbit named Spyro, and two calico cats named Freya and Riza. Nick and Hannah would not have made it this far if not for an excess of love for one another, as well as all of their amazing role models. Specifically, Nick and Hannah's parents who are both happily married for almost three decades. A huge thanks to all of their friends and support systems as well!
