Question

Do I need to bring my ID?

Answer

Yes- Our venue would like us to remind all guests to please bring your ID. In order to enjoy an adult beverage, an ID will be required so please don't forget yours!

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

We request that guests wear cocktail attire (ex: suit and tie for men and cocktail dress for women).

What will the weather be like in La Jolla this time of year?

Answer

The weather in San Diego in mid-August is typically a high in the 80's and a low in the mid-sixties. The coast can be cool or breezy after sunset, so a sweater or jacket is recommended.

Are Children welcome?

Answer

Although we love and wish we could accommodate all the little ones, the wedding/reception are adults only. We kindly invite you to enjoy a parents’ night out and to celebrate with us.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both be outside on the rooftop of the hotel. There will be heaters located throughout the venue as well after sunset.

How do I get to the wedding venue?

Answer

We highly suggest Uber or Lyft. Parking is available, however, can be difficult given the busy time of year for this area. PLEASE NOTE: Friday traffic in La Jolla can be very busy, so please plan your departure to the venue accordingly. We encourage guests to plan to arrive by 3:30 PM. The rooftop venue is located on an oceanfront street, which can get congested. Uber/Lyft: 1) Depending on traffic, it may be best to have Uber or Lyft drop you off by the walkway on Prospect Street that is just past the Starbucks and adjacent to the La Jolla rug store. From Prospect Street take the walkway to Coast Blvd. (walk towards the ocean) and turn right. The hotel is just a short walk and will be located on your right. It will appear you are walking into a garage/parking area, from there take the elevator to the rooftop. *Once you see Parakeet cafe you are in the right place* 2) Additionally, if you are walking on Prospect, you can take the "hidden" stair pathway which is located directly in between La Valencia hotel and the La Jolla Rug store. The stairway leads you directly down to the venue. At the bottom of the steps & once you reach the oceanfront, turn right and the venue is a very short walk (< 2 minutes) and located on your right. It will appear you are walking into a garage/parking area, from there take the elevator to the rooftop. *Once you see Parakeet cafe you are in the right place* The concierge can direct you to the elevators that take you to the rooftop Venue. What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony begins at 4pm PST. Guests can arrive as early as 3:30 pm PST. *Please note this is a change as the ceremony was previously set to start at 5pm PST & now begins at 4pm PST* Due to the high traffic area we please suggest arriving early and enjoy the ocean views. Be sure to check the traffic patterns to avoid getting stuck upon arrival.

Where should guests park?

Answer

Guests who have booked rooms at the venue, La Jolla Cove Hotel and Suites, have parking included. There is plenty of street parking available near the venue. Note that some spots have a 3 hour limit until 6pm. The closest parking garages are noted on the map below (Ace Parking at 1200 Prospect St. and Morgan Stanley Parking at 7957 Herschel Ave.). Both have easy access to the walking path shown above.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We do! All hotel room block information is located on our website under the "travel" tab. This includes directions and a link to book directly using the room rate discount. Please note that some of these hotels, while only 10 miles away, can mean a lengthy transit time on a Friday night, so please plan accordingly. If you would like to stay within walking distance, there are some lovely airbnb's/vrbos in the area. We've also provided a Zola link for discounted hotel booking for hotels located near the venue. If you have any issues booking through one of our links please contact the Hotel directly and reference the Horn/Melton wedding.

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP, or can I do it online?
